What does it mean to Opt Out?
Opt Out means you wish to be excluded on the exchange of gifts for your particular holiday. A particular holiday can be chosen from the drop down tab on the "build Your Profile" Section.
What does it mean when I receive a "BUZZ"?
A "hit" will mean that someone on your gift exchange has decided to join your invitation to not exchange gifts. This a mutual agreement to not exchange gifts.
How do I search for members?
Enter your friends whole name, email, city and state in the "USER SEARCH" box at the top of the page. Separate each search term with a space and then click the "GO" button.
What is the Score?
The score is developed by matching as many of your search terms as possible. The higher the score the higher the chance you have found Your Friend.
What if I don't invite someone in and just register?
Then you will be listed on a national database as someone who prefers not to receive or buy gifts for your designated holiday. Someone on your gift exchange list may see your
name during a database search and send you an invitation to Opt Out. It is more effective to invite others in and we therefore recommend that to maximize results!
How do I edit my profile?
Login with your email address and password to the left. Then select "My Account" and edit as you wish.
How do I remove myself from the list?
If you would like to be removed from our system, click on the "Contact Us" button at the top of the page and insert your information including a comment to our administrator to please remove you from the system. We will send you an email confirming your account has been deleted.
Is it okay to leave city and/or state blank in my profile?
Leaving your city and/or state blank is okay, however, these fields help us to score searches and will ultimately help your friends find you!
Why would I specify holidays to opt out of vs. opting out entirely?
We have designed the system with the option to set spending limits or to opt out of specific holidays and continue to exchange gifts for others. The important part is to have fun and enjoy your holidays!
What is a Standard Spending Limit?
If you would like to set a spending limit for all holidays you can. You have the option of setting specific spending limits for each of your friends for each holiday, but in some cases your friends will sneak in a gift for a holiday you forgot to list. This will help them to know how much to spend.
How do I add a member to my Friends Network?
Login and go to My Account, in the Friends Network, fill in the Add Friend form.
Add your holidays and click the "Add Friend" button.
If your friend is a member the system will color code them in the Your Friends section of the My Account page.
If you think your friend is a member and that they have added you to their friends list, scroll down to the Members with you as a friend list. You can check out their profile by clicking their name.
